Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) 9-2, then won 8-2 against Xiao Ming Xu (BEI JING, CHN) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 10-1 against Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL). Whyte responded with a 4-3 win over Jordan Chandler (Little Current, NO) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 5-2 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they lost 7-4 to Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Whyte earned 7.875 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 6 of the event schedule, Whyte did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Whyte ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
