In their opening game, Symonds defeated Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) 8-4, then went on to lose 9-4 against Daniel Casper (Chaska, MN). Symonds responded with a 6-3 win over P.N. Raju (Hyderabad, IN). Symonds went on to lose 6-0 against Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC). Symonds lost 8-6 to Cole Adams (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
