In their opening game, Laycock lost 5-4 to Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA), droppimg another game, 9-8 to Jayden King (London, ON). Laycock lost 6-0 to John Shuster (Duluth, MN) where Laycock responded with a 8-1 win over Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO). Laycock went on to lose 7-4 against Bob Leclair (Tempe, AZ) in their final qualifying round match.

Laycock earned 1.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 69th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 44.719 total points. Laycock ranks 77th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.125 points earned so far this season.
