In their opening game, Menard lost 6-4 to Wayne Middaugh (Toronto, ON), droppimg another game, 9-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Menard lost 9-7 to Glenn Howard (Coldwater, ON) where Menard responded with a 5-4 win over Pete Fenson (Bemidji, USA). Menard went on to lose 9-4 against Kerry Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
