Kevin Martin (Edmonton, CAN) lost 7-6 to Scotland's David Murdoch in the Final of the Ford World Men's Curling Championship, held April 3 - 12, 2009 in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Martin won 10-4 against Czech Republic's Jiri Snitil, then won 6-4 against Germany's Andy Kapp and 8-3 against Switzerland's Ralph Stöckli. Martin won 9-2 against Norway's Thomas Ulsrud, then won 12-4 against Finland's Kalle Kiiskinen and 9-6 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA). Martin won 10-4 against Denmark's Ulrik Schmidt. Martin went on to lose 6-5 against Scotland's David Murdoch in their final qualifying round match.
