Burtnyk went on to lose 8-5 against Kevin Koe (Edmonton, AB). Burtnyk responded with a 7-6 win over Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Burtnyk earned 9.400 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Twin Anchors Invitational.
