Stefanie Lawton (Saskatoon, SK) won 7-3 over Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Canada Cup of Curling, held December 1 - 5, 2010 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Lawton finished 4-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawton defeated Shelley Nichols (St. John's, NL) 9-6, then won 13-3 against Kelly Scott (Kelowna, BC) and 7-2 against Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB). Lawton went on to lose 11-5 against Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB). Lawton responded with a 8-5 win over Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Canada Cup of Curling Championship title, Lawton earned 45.000 world rankings points along with the $28,200CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 5th place overall with 233.501 total points. Lawton ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 135.440 points earned so far this season.
