Scott Edie (Middletown, MD) lost 7-2 to Stephen Dropkin (Wayland, MA) in the Final of the National Capital Cashspiel, held November 25 - 27, 2011 in Laurel, Maryland. To advance to the championship game, Edie won 6-3 over New York's Hannah Ely in the semifinals

Edie finished 4-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edie defeated New York's Hannah Ely 7-2, then won 8-1 against Derek Surka (New Haven, CT). Edie went on to lose 8-5 against Brian Galebach (Columbia, MD). Edie responded with a 7-6 win over New York's Brandon Corbett. Edie won 7-4 against Dropkin in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the National Capital Cashspiel, Edie take home 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,814CDN prize. For week 15 of the event schedule, Edie did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Edie ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
