Sormunen won 8-5 against Kimberly Wapola (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Sormunen earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the US Curling Nationals, moving up 32 spots the World Ranking Standings into 80th place overall with 15.750 total points. Sormunen ranks 69th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.250 points earned so far this season.
