Frans finished 3-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Frans defeated AJ Schumacher (Walkerton, ON) 10-2, then won 7-3 against Brett Dekoning (Chatham, ON) and 6-3 against Craig Kochan (Kapuskasing, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Brantford Nissan Classic Championship title, Frans earned 13.250 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 24th place overall with 80.232 total points.
