Lauren Horton (Ottawa, ON) won 9-2 over Katie Morrissey (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Carleton Heights Women's Cash, held September 6 - 9, 2012 at the Carleton Heights Curling Club in Ottawa, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Horton won 7-5 over Laura Payne (Ottawa, ON) in the semifinals

Horton finished 4-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Horton defeated Lauren Mann (Ottawa, ON) 4-3, then won 6-5 against Camile Boisvert (Montreal, PQ) and 8-2 against Rhonda Varnes (Ottawa, ON). Horton won 7-5 against Payne in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Carleton Heights Women's Cash Championship title, Horton earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Horton did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Horton ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
