Buott finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Buott defeated Tommy Sullivan (Halifax, NS) 7-5, then won 10-3 against Dacey. Buott went on to lose 7-3 against Matt Paul (Ottawa, ON). Buott responded with a 6-1 win over Kent Smith (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
