Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI) won 7-4 over Peter de Cruz (Geneva, SUI) in the Final of the German Masters, held January 24 - 26, 2014 in Hamburg, Germany. To advance to the championship game, Michel won 7-3 over Torkil Svensgaard (Hoje-Taastrup, DEN) in the semifinals of the 2014 German Masters in Hamburg, Germany; and won 5-3 over Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2014 German Masters in Hamburg, Germany;

Michel finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Michel defeated Andrey Drozdov (Moscow, RUS) 5-3, then won 4-3 against Jiri Snitil (Praha, CZE) and 9-1 against Stefan Haesler (Berne, SUI). Michel won 4-3 against Alexander Baumann (Fuessen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the German Masters Championship title, Michel earned 16.400 world rankings points along with the $9,123CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 11th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 11.4 after improving upon their best so far this season. Michel ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 126.240 points earned so far this season.
