Thomas finished 5-2 in the 32 team DEKALB Superspiel qualifying round, held November 19 - 23, 2015 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. In their opening game, Thomas defeated Todd Birr (Minnesota) 7-2, then went on to lose 7-5 against Daley Peters (Manitoba). Thomas responded with a 6-5 win over Korey Dropkin (Blaine, USA). Thomas went on to lose 8-4 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Thomas responded with a 8-3 win over Birr. Thomas won 7-6 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO), then won 8-2 against Mark Kean (Stoney Creek, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the DEKALB Superspiel, Thomas take home 36.632 world rankings points along with the $6,500CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 15th place overall with 242.957 total points. Thomas ranks 9th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 184.799 points earned so far this season.
