Murdoch won 7-3 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED), then won 5-4 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 5-3 against Sven Michel (Adelboden, SUI). Murdoch responded with a 7-1 win over Jia Liang Zang (Harbin, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the EURONICS European Masters Championship title, Murdoch earned 27.038 world rankings points along with the $10,600CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 12th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 1.353 after improving upon their best so far this season. Murdoch ranks 8th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 271.237 points earned so far this season.
