David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO) lost 5-4 to Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) in the Final of the Go Coco Scottish Curling Championships, held February 13 - 20, 2016 at the Nelson Curling Club in Nelson, Canada.
Murdoch finished 6-3 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Murdoch defeated Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) 8-3, then won 8-7 against Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) and 7-3 against Ewan MacDonald (Inverness, SCO). Murdoch won 6-4 against Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 8-4 against Cameron Bryce (Border, SCO). Murdoch responded with a 8-1 win over Scott MacLeod (Aberdeen, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 8-2 against Brewster. Murdoch responded with a 9-2 win over Moray Combe (Perth, SCO). Murdoch went on to lose 5-4 against Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Go Coco Scottish Curling Championships, Murdoch take home 29.955 world rankings points. For week 27 of the event schedule, Murdoch did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Murdoch ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
