In their opening game, Chester lost 7-4 to Thomas Scoffin (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 9-6 win over Kyler Kleibrink (Calgary, AB). Chester won 9-5 against Justin Nillson (Kelowna, BC), then won 5-1 against Mat Ring (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
