Bruce Mouat (Stirlng, SCO) lost 8-2 to 's Karel Kubeska in the Final of the Edinburgh International, held November 4 - 6, 2016 at the Murrayfield Curling Club in Edinburgh, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 7-4 over Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2016 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland; and won 4-3 over David Sik (Prague, CZE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Edinburgh International in Edinburgh, Scotland, Scotland;
 
Mouat finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Borys Jasiecki (Sopot, POL) 8-3, then won 7-5 against Tomi Rantamaki (Hyvinkaa, FIN) and 8-5 against Ally Fraser (Perth, SCO). Mouat went on to lose 7-3 against Alan Macdougall (Kent, ENG). Mouat responded with a 8-2 win over Andy Kapp (Hamburg, GER) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Edinburgh International, Mouat take home 16.803 world rankings points along with the $3,356CDN prize, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 30th place overall with 165.109 total points.
