Ulsrud finished 5-1 in the 31-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Roland Robinson (Edmonton, AB) 8-3, then went on to lose 6-5 against Bottcher. Ulsrud responded with a 7-1 win over Mick Lizmore (Calgary, AB). Ulsrud won 6-1 against Pete Fenson (Bemidji, USA), then won 5-2 against John Shuster (Duluth, USA) and 6-3 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the College Clean Restoration Curling Classic, Ulsrud take home 51.615 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN prize, moving up 5 spots the World Ranking Standings into 11th place overall with 280.386 total points.
