Marla Mallett (Walnut Grove, BC) won 7-1 over Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic, held September 29 - October 2, 2016 at the Vernon Curling Club in Vernon, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Mallett won 5-2 over Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC) in the semifinals of the 2016 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada; and won 7-5 over Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2016 Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Mallett finished 4-1 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mallett lost 5-4 to Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 5-4 win over Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC). Mallett won 5-3 against Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi-do, KOR), then won 5-4 against Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) and 7-2 against Lindsay Hudyma (Vancouver/Victoria, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Prestige Hotels & Resorts Curling Classic Championship title, Mallett earned 52.855 world rankings points along with the $8,900CDN first prize cheque, moving up 32 spots the World Ranking Standings into 41st place overall with 89.928 total points. Mallett ranks 10th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 52.855 points earned so far this season.
