Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) finished 8-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Andy Kapp (Hamburg, GER) 9-4, then won 7-1 against Rasmus Stjerne (Hvidovre, DEN). Edin went on to lose 8-4 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). Edin responded with a 8-3 win over Aku Kauste (Helsinki, FIN). Edin won 6-4 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA), then won 7-3 against Alexey Timofeev (Moscow, RUS) and 8-1 against Peter De Cruz (Geneva, SUI). Edin won 10-3 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuhel, AUT), then won 6-3 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships Championship title, Edin earned 56.798 world rankings points, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 28.644 after improving upon their best so far this season. Edin ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 456.003 points earned so far this season.
