Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) qualified for the 2017 WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB).

Jones finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jones lost 5-2 to Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS), then responded with a 6-3 win over Alex Robichaud (Moncton, NB). Jones won 4-3 against Jeremy Mallais (Saint John, NB). Jones went on to lose 3-1 against Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS). Jones responded with a 6-1 win over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

Jones earned 8.105 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, moving up 12 spots the World Ranking Standings into 121st place overall with 38.995 total points. Jones ranks 118th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 18.842 points earned so far this season.
