Katie Cottrill/Shawn Cottrill (Listowel, ON) won 7-5 over Courtney Shaw/Melvin Shaw (Potomac, MD) in the Final of the Southern States Mixed Doubles, held December 29 - 31, 2017 at the Charlotte Curling Association in Charlote, United States.

Cottrill/Cottrill finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cottrill/Cottrill defeated Lacie Byers/Matthew Kenlan (Charlotte, NC) 8-2, then won 13-4 against Carol McKee/David Coates (Charlotte, NC) and 8-4 against Alison Roark/Ryan Smith (Greenville, SC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Southern States Mixed Doubles Championship title, Cottrill/Cottrill earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $1,387CDN first prize cheque. For week 21 of the event schedule, Cottrill/Cottrill did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
