Mike Hutchings (Morinville, AB) finished 6-2 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hutchings defeated Barry Chwedoruk (Lac La Biche, AB) 9-3, then won 9-5 against Ed Ehle (Lloydminster, AB). Hutchings went on to lose 9-4 against Charley Thomas (Edmonton, AB). Hutchings lost 6-5 to Adam Norget (Edmonton, AB) where Hutchings responded with a 9-3 win over Shane Parcels (Edmonton, AB). Hutchings won 9-8 against Corey Leach (Lac La Biche, AB), then won 9-4 against Norget and 8-5 against Derek Miller (Strome, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Hutchings earned 6.400 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Alberta Boston Pizza Cup Northerns. For week 22 of the event schedule, Hutchings did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hutchings ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
