Gaute Nepstad (Lillehammer, NOR) qualified for the 2018 Norwegian National Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-4 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Oppdal, NOR). of the 2018 Norwegian National Championship in Lillehammer, Norway;

Nepstad finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Nepstad lost 6-2 to Patrick Kverkild (Trondheim, NOR), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) where Nepstad responded with a 7-5 win over Kjetil Skaret (Snaroen, NOR). Nepstad won 10-7 against Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

Nepstad earned 3.070 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Norwegian National Championship, moving up 30 spots the World Ranking Standings into 252nd place overall with 13.558 total points. Nepstad ranks 214th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.174 points earned so far this season.
