AMJ Campbell Shorty Jenkins Classic qualifying round, held September 13 - 16, 2018 at the Cornwall Curling Club in Cornwall, Canada. In their opening game, Crete lost 8-6 to Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) where Crete responded with a 7-3 win over Mingjie Yuan (Beijing, CHN). Crete went on to lose 9-2 against Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON). Crete lost 6-3 to Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Crete earned 3.258 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 43rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 83.453 total points. Crete ranks 62nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.258 points earned so far this season.
