In their opening game, Makichuk lost 7-6 to Marla Sherrer (Lacombe, AB), then responded with a 9-8 win over Karynn Flory (Edmonton, AB). Makichuk won 9-4 against Adele Kezama (Sherwood Park, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Makichuk earned 8.606 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Alberta Scotties - Qualifier 2. For week 21 of the event schedule, Makichuk did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Makichuk ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
