In their opening game, Hope lost 9-2 to Ed Comeau (Meteghan, NS), then responded with a 8-5 win over Lou Nowlan (Summerside, PEI). Hope won 8-2 against Peter Myers (Saint John, NB). Hope went on to lose 8-5 against Gary Mitchell (Saint John, NB). Hope lost 9-4 to Bob Sherrard (Rothesay, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
