In their opening game, Gyles lost 6-4 to Sarah Wark (Abbotsford, BC), droppimg another game, 7-2 to Kim Slattery (Vernon, BC) where Gyles responded with a 8-4 win over Karla Thompson (Kamloops, BC). Gyles went on to lose 8-3 against Lindsay Hudyma (Vancouver, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Gyles earned 1.050 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 180th place overall with 7.754 total points. Gyles ranks 150th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.015 points earned so far this season.
