In their opening game, Gallant lost 8-2 to Scott Jones (Moncton, NB), droppimg another game, 7-4 to Kevin Ouellette (Halifax, NS) where Gallant responded with a 6-4 win over Jean-Sebastien Roy (Saguenay, QC). Gallant won 7-6 against Bryan Cochrane (Ottawa, ON). Gallant went on to lose 4-3 against Nova Scotia's Mike Callaghan in their final qualifying round match.

Gallant earned 1.902 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 272nd place overall with 6.608 total points. Gallant ranks 230th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.902 points earned so far this season.
