Powell finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Powell lost 7-6 to Alberta's Colin Griffith, then responded with a 8-1 win over Glen Godberson (Fort St. John, BC). Powell won 9-6 against Scott Webb (Peace River, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
