James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) is set to play Grattan in the Final Grattan advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the New Brunswick Tankard, held February 9 - 13, 2022 in Miramichi, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Grattan won 8-5 over Zack Eldridge (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals of the 2022 New Brunswick Tankard in Miramichi, New Brunswick;
Grattan finished 6-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grattan defeated Eldridge 8-7, then won 8-5 against Alex Robichaud (Fredericton, NB) and 9-5 against Jack Smeltzer (Fredericton, NB). Grattan went on to lose 9-8 against Eldridge. Grattan responded with a 8-3 win over Adam MacDonald (Oromocto, NB). Grattan won 9-1 against Smeltzer, then won 8-2 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the New Brunswick Tankard Championship title, Grattan earned 10.238 world rankings points, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 67th place overall with 56.959 total points. Grattan ranks 79th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 39.800 points earned so far this season.
