Penny Barker (Moose Jaw, SK) qualified for the 2022 RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-2 against Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI). of the 2022 RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada;

Barker finished 4-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . Barker won 7-6 against Amber Holland (Regina, SK), then won 7-1 against Ashley Howard (Regina, SK) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 8-3 against Eunjung Kim (Gangneung , KOR) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

Barker earned 21.000 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the RBC Dominion Securities Western Showdown, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 20th place overall with 106.720 total points. Barker ranks 46th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 22.875 points earned so far this season.
