Yanagisawa finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Josh Heidt (Kerrobert , SK) 7-0, then won 6-5 against Manners and 6-4 against Jesse St. John (Swift Current, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
