8-3 to Minjun Kang (Seoul, KOR), then responded with a 8-3 win over Jeongmin Kim (Gyeonggido, KOR). Kim won 13-3 against Woojin Yang (Uijeongbu, KOR). Kim went on to lose 6-3 against JaeBeom Lee (Kyungil, KOR). Kim responded with a 8-1 win over ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR). Kim won 8-3 against Yeongseok Jeong (Gangwo, KOR), then won 8-3 against Junhwa Lee (Uiseong, KOR) and 7-4 against Kim. Kim went on to lose 7-3 against Jeong in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Korean Curling Championships, Kim take home 11.000 world rankings points. For week 1 of the event schedule, Kim did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Kim ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
