Sandy MacEwan (Sudbury, NONT) lost 7-5 to Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) in the Final of the Unibet Northern Ontario Tankard, held January 25 - 29, 2023 in Kenora, Northern Ontario.

MacEwan finished 4-1 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacEwan defeated Kory Carr (Thunder Bay, NONT) 5-4, then went on to lose 10-6 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). MacEwan responded with a 9-4 win over Brian Adams Jr. (Thunder Bay, NONT). MacEwan won 8-3 against Chris Glibota (Sault Ste Marie, NONT), then won 8-5 against Jacobs in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Unibet Northern Ontario Tankard, MacEwan take home 8.250 world rankings points, moving up 43 spots the World Ranking Standings into 124th place overall with 24.369 total points. MacEwan ranks 121st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 20.125 points earned so far this season.
