Thiesse/Dropkin Runner-Up at 2022 Southern Mixed Doubles

Cory Thiesse/Korey Dropkin (Duluth, MN) lost 6-5 to Taylor Anderson/Ben Richardson (Chaska , MN) in the Final of the Southern Mixed Doubles, held December 28 - 30, 2022 at the Charlotte Curling Association in Charlote, United States. To advance to the championship game, Thiesse/Dropkin won 8-3 over Sydney Mullaney/Chase Sinnett (Chaska, MN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Southern Mixed Doubles in Charlote, North Carolina, United States; and won 9-0 over Clare Moores/Lance Wheeler (Golden, CO) in the quarterfinals.

Thiesse/Dropkin finished 4-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thiesse/Dropkin defeated Madison Whitney/Morgan Whitney (Petersham, MA) 11-2, then won 9-1 against Allison Kenney/Edward Scimia (Wayland, MA) and 11-0 against Melissa Fountain/Tony Kot (Lafayette, CO). Thiesse/Dropkin won 9-0 against Moores/Wheeler in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Southern Mixed Doubles, Thiesse/Dropkin take home 11.000 world rankings points along with the $1,367CDN prize. For week 22 of the event schedule, Thiesse/Dropkin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Thiesse/Dropkin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
