Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR) finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Karagoz lost 9-3 to James Craik (Stirling, SCO), droppimg another game, 11-2 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Karagoz responded with a 7-4 win over Sweden's Patric Klaremo. Karagoz won 7-2 against Mats Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE), then won 9-2 against Jonathan Vilandt (Hvidovre, DEN) in their final qualifying round match.

Karagoz earned 4.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 30 of the event schedule, Karagoz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Karagoz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
