In their opening game, Dunbar lost 6-1 to Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN), droppimg another game, 5-1 to Owen Purcell (Halifax, NS) where Dunbar responded with a 5-3 win over Tyler Pfeiffer (Edmonton, AB). Dunbar went on to lose 6-1 against Cameron de Jong (Penticton, BC) in their final qualifying round match.

Dunbar earned 2.063 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 111th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 29.016 total points. Dunbar ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.188 points earned so far this season.
