Mikkel Krause (Hvidovre, DEN) finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Krause lost 7-4 to Axel Landelius (Mjoelby, SWE), then responded with a 7-0 win over Anders Westerberg (Sundbyberg, SWE). Krause won 4-3 against Andreas Harstad (Oppdal, NOR), then won 7-6 against Joel Westerberg (Sundbyberg, SWE) and 7-4 against Harstad. Krause won 4-1 against Landelius in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Sundbyberg Open Championship title, Krause earned 7.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 109th place overall with 26.857 total points. Krause ranks 73rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 18.750 points earned so far this season.
