Jean-Michel Arsenault (Levis, QC) won 6-5 over Stuart Thompson (Halifax, NS) in the Final of the Superstore Monctonian Challenge, held December 8 - 10 in Moncton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Arsenault won 7-2 over James Grattan (Oromocto , NB) in the semifinals of the Superstore Monctonian Challenge in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 7-6 over Greg Smith (St. John's , NL) in the quarterfinals. of the Superstore Monctonian Challenge in Moncton, New Brunswick;
Arsenault finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Arsenault defeated Jason Roach (Fredericton, NB) 8-3, then went on to lose 4-3 against Thompson. Arsenault responded with a 6-5 win over Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). Arsenault won 5-4 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Superstore Monctonian Challenge Championship title, Arsenault earned 11.250 world rankings points along with the $2,300CDN first prize cheque. Arsenault move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 9.375 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 51st overall with 68.633 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Arsenault ranks 51st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 50.000 points earned so far this season.
