Sam Flanagan (Naseby, NZL) won 6-5 over Darcy Nevill (Naseby, NZL) in the Final of the New Zealand Junior National Championships, held August 25 - 27 at the Naseby Curling Club in Naseby, New Zealand. To advance to the championship game, Flanagan won 5-2 over Oscar Cao (Naseby, NZL) in the semifinals of the New Zealand Junior National Championships in Naseby, New Zealand;
Flanagan finished 4-0 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Flanagan defeated Ben Kinney (Naseby, NZL) 11-5, then won 9-3 against Cao and 5-3 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Flanagan won 8-1 against Nevill in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the New Zealand Junior National Championships Championship title, Flanagan earned 3.750 world rankings points, moving up 268 spots the World Ranking Standings into 280th place overall with 3.750 total points. Flanagan ranks 40th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.750 points earned so far this season.
