To advance to the championship game, Papley/van Amsterdam won 8-7 over Jocelyn Peterman/Brett Gallant (Red Deer, AB) in the semifinals of the Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-5 over Danielle Schmiemann/Jason Ginter (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic in Banff, Alberta, Canada;
Papley/van Amsterdam finished 4-1 in the 30-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Papley/van Amsterdam defeated Brett Barber/Mitch Heidt (Kerrobert, SK) 10-6, then won 14-3 against Karen Dreaver/Roger Dougall (Canmore, AB). Papley/van Amsterdam went on to lose 9-3 against Schmiemann/Ginter. Papley/van Amsterdam responded with a 11-5 win over Peterman/Gallant. Papley/van Amsterdam won 8-7 against Zoe Cinnamon/Gabriel Dyck (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Rocky Mountain Mixed Doubles Classic, Papley/van Amsterdam take home 22.000 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN prize, remaining in 806th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 33 after improving upon their best so far this season.
