To advance to the championship game, Wiebe won 6-5 over Justin Reynolds (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in the semifinals of the Viterra Berth Bonspiel in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada;

Wiebe finished 2-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wiebe defeated Jeff Stewart (Gladstone, MB) 7-5, then won 8-1 against Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
