Yuya Takigahira (Hokkaido, JPN) finished 3-4 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Takigahira defeated Keita Takano (Hokkaido, JPN) 14-0, then went on to lose 5-4 against Fukuhiro Ohno (Hokkaido, JPN). Takigahira lost 8-6 to Taia Nakahara (Kitami, JPN) where Takigahira responded with a 5-3 win over Hiroyuki Honda (Kitami, JPN). Takigahira won 5-3 against Shunta Kobayashi (Sapporo, JPN). Takigahira went on to lose 6-4 against Yutaro Kasai (Sapporo, JPN). Takigahira lost 3-2 to Takumi Maeda (Kitami, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Takigahira earned 0.563 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 21 of the event schedule, Takigahira did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Takigahira ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
