Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 7-5 over Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the Final of the Co-op Canadian Open, held November 5 - 10 in Nisku, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-1 over Seungyoun Ha (Chuncheon, KOR) in the semifinals of the Co-op Canadian Open in Nisku, Alberta; and won 11-5 over Kerri Einarson (Gimli, MB) in the quarterfinals.
Homan finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) 6-4, then won 4-3 against Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) and 9-3 against Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB). Homan won 5-4 against Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Co-op Canadian Open Championship title, Homan earned 75.000 world rankings points along with the $44,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 15 of the event schedule, Homan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Homan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
