Lowell Whittmire (Castor, AB) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Whittmire lost 5-3 to Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 10-4 win over Peter Hlushak (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire went on to lose 8-5 against Timothy Marin (Sherwood Park, AB). Whittmire responded with a 11-10 win over Ben Kiist (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire won 9-3 against Nolan Duncan (Calgary, AB), then won 6-2 against Terren Algot (Sherwood Park, AB) and 4-3 against Zach Davies (Edmonton, AB). Whittmire went on to lose 10-3 against Kinley Burton (St. Albert, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
