Toni Mueller (Baden Regio, SUI) qualified for the 2009 Swiss Cup Basel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Switzerland's Markus Eggler.
 
Mueller finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mueller defeated Czech Republic's Radeck Klima 7-3, then went on to lose 7-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Mueller lost 6-5 to David Murdoch (Scotland, UK) where Mueller responded with a 7-2 win over Switzerland's Kevin Froidevaux. Mueller won 9-8 against Thomas Heimann (Zurich, SUI), then won 4-3 against Switzerland's Sven Iten in their final qualifying round match.
