Toni Mueller (Baden Regio, SUI) qualified for the 2009 Swiss Cup Basel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Switzerland's Markus Eggler.
 
Mueller finished 4-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mueller defeated Czech Republic's Radeck Klima 7-3, then went on to lose 7-2 against Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Mueller lost 6-5 to David Murdoch (Scotland, UK) where Mueller responded with a 7-2 win over Switzerland's Kevin Froidevaux. Mueller won 9-8 against Thomas Heimann (Zurich, SUI), then won 4-3 against Switzerland's Sven Iten in their final qualifying round match.
 
Mueller earned 11.040 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Swiss Cup Basel. For week of the event schedule, Mueller did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Mueller ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
