Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) qualified for the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-2 against Germany's Andy Kapp. of the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland;
 
Edin finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin lost 6-5 to Switzerland's Kevin Froidevaux, then responded with a 7-3 win over Thomas Dufour (Chamonix, FRA). Edin won 7-3 against Thomas Due (Oslo, NOR). Edin went on to lose 7-5 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR). Edin responded with a 8-3 win over Switzerland's Beno Arnold. Edin won 5-3 against Jean-Nicolas Longchamp (Zurich, SUI), then won 7-3 against Switzerland's Manuel Ruch in their final qualifying round match.
