Ulsrud Reaches 2010 Swiss Cup Basel Quarters

Thomas Ulsrud (Oslo, NOR) qualified for the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Switzerland's Christof Schwaller. of the 2010 Swiss Cup Basel in Basel, Switzerland;
 
Ulsrud finished 5-2 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ulsrud defeated Italy's Giorgio Da Rin 8-4, then won 7-2 against Finland's Tomi Rantamaki. Ulsrud went on to lose 7-4 against Switzerland's Christof Schwaller. Ulsrud responded with a 7-5 win over Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE). Ulsrud went on to lose 5-4 against Germany's Andy Kapp. Ulsrud responded with a 6-3 win over David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). Ulsrud won 4-2 against Switzerland's Pascal Hess in their final qualifying round match.
 
Ulsrud earned 8.640 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Swiss Cup Basel, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 234.410 total points. Ulsrud ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 29.210 points earned so far this season.
